Little Brother Eli - Also Known As Performance 18th May 2018
Little Brother Eli finally hit the ground in Banbury on Friday 18th May 2018.
I and Meow live in town not that far from the venue which is handy. When bands are in its free entry as well. We thought that is worth a pint or two and a pizza. Also Known As, is a different place to our favourite venue The Flapper in Birmingham, but about the same size where the bands perform.
We got there about 8 pm thinking they would be on. Turns out there are on 10.30 - 11.30. As we have seen them before we would happily pay to get in. If your reading this and not heard of these guys before, they have a nice Pop, Rock, Funk sound with lead singer Alex, who has got a pretty unique vocal style and he moves with the music. The guy sweats buckets. It reminds me of the Blues Brother performance, the entire band never stop moving, which is one of the reasons I like them. They are very energetic and they get the crowd going. This was very evident Friday night.
They began with a soundcheck, which you rarely see. They played Hurricane, then Our Kind of Love (above) and it’s a pretty fresh crowd.
They played albums classics Gold and Beautiful People (Cold Tales). As you see them live more you notice that they play new songs first then some of their well known ones, depending on crowd and new venue to them I am assuming. They played Stop Pretending, Tooth and more. The hour seemed like 30 minutes. The old saying Time Flies When You're Having Fun? very true on this night. They usually end with their album and live set favourite Beautiful People, but it was Animal Fair to end
