YouTube Creators

Youtube is the growing global network similar to Sky but on demand version. I love the platform. To me its the digital version of Terrestrial TV. For a whole range of artists and visual creators Youtube allows, it amazing. It’s not perfect, but nothing is. It would be interesting if Youtube applied this music chart system approach to the platform? Say if you have 10 million people watching youtube in a space of three hours on 20 channels. The subscribe button acts as the portal for channels entering the chart. All new likes act as the climbing up and down numbers. The view count acts as a growth scale to see who gets noticed by sponsors ( As they are doing now I think?). Normally how Youtube reacts this way is by releasing regular content mainly on a weekly basis. You have to be polite with certain words depending in the content you are releasing ( What I learned from channel Popcorned Plannet) but depends whats going on in the world.  YouTube being a global network, it does get effect

Apple Music for Your Ears?

Like many people I assumed this was either a cleaning issue or a charging issue? As many people do I looked on Google search and Youtube for a solution. Watch the video to find out what I discovered Thanks to channel Macrumours for the one of the very few videos I found on Youtube search that saved me from buying a new pair.  I thought they were beyond repair.

My Video Portfolio: Introduction, How I Roll and Videos

Image
Introduction I love editing and have fun with footage and audio.  My name is Paul Readman, I am a freelance audio / video editor  This began  when I was broadcasting  live on net radio.  I edited various interviews for my Bandcamp and I was told I have  good ear audio editing. I began by uploading gig footage, interviews, news Vlogs and other videos on Youtube.  I saw this as a progression for my skills to grow and   experiments I like the idea of using footage for effects, overlayering as well as adding effects to footage.  I also try to recycle footage where I can and shot fresh / on location How I Roll I get a project I listen to what is required.  If needed I  source footage. I take footage and match the quality to every other I have or near it If required I upscale to near as 4k as possible Sometimes you come across footage that can add a visual curve to the story. I then edit a dra ft.  Feedback is roughly around 90% on first draft. I am only satisfied when the client is. Up to 2

The History of Record Shops, Podcast?

This might work it this might not. This will be sourced from videos a make. This will not be radio shows like I have recorded in that past. This will be an audio documentary of sorts. We shall see

History of Record Shops ( HORSH) Video Series

As always these things start off as ideas. I just opened a blog and write down what I could remember.  I  knew somewhere along the line there would be a video of some kind. Why the hell not. Let's make a documentary? At first I didn't know how to approach this.  With the footage and audio I have record it became pretty clear.   I have filmed at Strummer Room Records and Mac’s Music Store, both in Banbury.  When I get to Edmonton, Canada, I will be filming in shops there. I have had already a reply back from one shop owner. The goal is to find out the local history. I am noticing independent traders opening up in many places. We are in the aftermath of what is the worst global virus to hit the earth in a century. This has seemingly lit a fire under people. The is the full version of what I filmed  at Mac’s Music Store, one of the latest walk in music stores to make it’s mark The promo for the Pop Up shop that Strummer Room Records, opens on a regular basis to promote his walk in

Knowing music knowledge

Wandering around Google Search and found this? WELCOME. No one knows everything about vinyl, but I have to say I recently realised that I know more about  music in terms of whats valuable and whats not  than I thought. I like supporting local record shops and I was looking through a box in Strummer Room Records, where I buy vinyl from and thinking when I was looking at a box of original Drum & Bass vinyl “Thats  good, that should be priced more”  I was talking to the  owner and I mentioned about the labels and sub labels and I mentioned the boxes of a dance vinyl he had as well. I’m a reseller by heart  its in my blood. I sorted some vinyl that I selected some titles that I knew that could be pushed more. I ran my own record shop Demand Records and I am still known for that. It's kinds like being a Youtuber. I know lot of about many sounds and what to look for.   I was pretty surprised to be honest what your memory stores. Vinyl is my main music fuel and I know what is valuabl

The History of Record Shops in Edmonton, Canada

I thought  because my wife and two cats are there and hopefully living there soon, I thought I would do a Record Shop History for Edmonton.  The more information I receive the more this will be filled out. I’m very curious to find out of the cities history in this regard as I don’t know much about it. There will be a video on this at some point.  This will be edited as more information becomes available  HMV I just realised both Banbury and Edmonton are linked with this company. The Canadian owner of the Canadian part of this business bought the U.K side a couple of years ago. Blackbyrd Moosyik Located down Whyte Avenue,  specialising in new, pre owned vinyl and home grown vinyl taken section which is the first one I went for.  Very spacious walk in store, very well layed out. The Queens Death

I was at working when someone flew out of a door I was near as he was watching a film in a screen I was near said “ The Queens Dead” I thought he was talking about the film but no Queen Elizabeth II R.I.P Yeah it's very easy to shout your mouth off about the Royals, but if people read about the family she didn't have a choice to become Queen. She was very young and I'm guessing she had to learn her role pretty damn bloody fast. On top of that she wanted to go into the army but I'm guessing because her status she chose to be an army mechanic. I forgot about those things. I'm not a fan of the Royals but they are all born  into this life some have left if you follow these things.  It's a big family who have had a lot of high profile deaths including Diana, which in my opinion was the biggest in Royal history. The Queens husband last year at 99 and her sister Princess Margret, 20 years ago which wasn't a total surprise due to her wild lifestyle? There are FAMIL

The History of Record Shops

Image
Since I have been helping to promote local record shops Strummer Room Records and new Mac’s Music Store here in Banbury  (One way of being involved), It occurred to me that not much attention historically is being paid towards record shops.  As a former owner of record shop Demand  Records ( still dabble with online vinyl album sales)(I miss it like crazy), I thought I would focus on this.  I realised recently that my shop is a part of. Over the decades there have been independent and chain stores. Depends where you live. The starting point is Banbury, who knows where this may lead?  I have decided to make this journey broader.  I thought to myself I am bound to get asked at some point. At the moment this is a few blogs and the start of an ongoing series on Youtube. This may lead to a documentary at some point. But not getting too far ahead of myself.                                                      Picture of Strummer Room Recorfs Strummer Room Records ( 4 years walk in and online

Banbury's Unicorn Inn Campaign

Thank you for Contacting us regarding the Unicorn Inn, Market Place, Banbury.   The Unicorn Inn is a Grade II* Listed Building and therefore is designated as a building of high significance. The council have recently been liaising with colleagues at Historic England to enter the Unicorn inn on to the Heritage at Risk register 2022 so that this will enable access to additional expertise that Historic England can provide and enable us to work more closely going forward.   The planning history on the building shows that Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent were granted in 2016 (16/01661/F & 16/01662/LB) for the conversion of the building to residential properties. This permission was not implemented and therefore is no longer a valid permission. Further applications to renew the lapsed permission were received at the beginning of 2020 (20/00063/F & 20/00064/LB) but these were never validated and were not proceeded with. Therefore the site no longer has a valid plannin

Demand Records

Demand Records This was a record shop which I owned from 1984 to 2005. This was the next step from car boots which I was doing weekly. I moved into a kiosk sized place which was found by a friend of mine as I only had so much stock and rent money.  This all started up in Parson Street, Banbury.  It was a small place and I wanted to see how it did. I always wanted to run my own record shop. This ended up running for two and a half years. After that time I had to move to a new location because the business owner who owned the property where we were paying rent to was selling up.  We found a place double the size down George Street.  It turned out that I had enough stock to fill it.  I hadn’t realised I was cramming that much in the space I had been in. After I settled down and a while later, the most significant shift in business was drum and bass vinyl. The market was growing because of major events at the Sanctuary, Milton Keynes.  I can't remember how I found it ( Someone will jo

Photo is just an example After coming back from Canada after realising the Visa I wanted in order to stay there was going to take far longer than my passport time would allow,  I am now temporarily staying with family until I can find work that can pay bills. This leads me into the next step, finding a place to live. I don't need much but I realised I need space and INTERNET. OMG do I need that. I only have net in my phone at the moment. It's amazing how much you need the net even just applying for work. Seriously, the need for the Internet is as  bad as needing electric. A small one bedroom flat is all I need.  Bills included but if that is not possible, that's fair enough. I decent shower as well. I don't want to share, I prefer my own space. Even though this whole thing is until I got my Visa, my stay is long term. The goal if you can call it that, is  to get to my wife who lives in Edmonton. We were pl

All I need is the equipment then I will be set as soon as I get a job and move to a flat with a net connection. I just moved back to the U.K to start work on getting back to my wife in Edmonton, Canada. I love editing videos and sometimes getting paid by client but in reality it's only a hobby. YouTube doesn't pay the bills either but I want to continue it.  I've had way too many breaks from it because real life happens. The next phase is live music news streaming. Due to most of the music getting copyrights I will make no money from YouTube. Its pretty random with that. I have been toying with idea for ages but not until I saw Popcorned Planet, who gave me the idea. I'm not going to tackle mainstream because that is just too much work for me to mentally handle.  I have seen many youtubers do this with OBS software and such.  I will be promoting independent music for the most part. I will just stick to music I receive from labels and PR companys First things

Episode 3 Sonar Vandals Machine in Proband

Image
Last In the trilogy. This is the third episode where I have selected four songs and  edited the clips together. This time it’s two Rock Punk and two Electro acts My favourite song for the artwork is Swamp Thing, what a cover.  I selected these as they are great production, no matter what genre. These all stand out.  Damn Vandals ,  I have broadcasts presented on video before, they always BRING IT! Same with Sonar4 .   Cool electro. First time hearing Mercury Machine. I am not a fan of covers although this was a good rendition.  I'm going to check out their own material. First time for Pro Band 147 as well. Nice bit of dark wave. From Thomas Ostler who's last release was 2006. Although as someone put it “ It's new for the first time hearing it :)
