The Music Vlog Update Series

Introduction

I don't mind recording in front of a camera, i  broadcast on radio and although video is visual, i want to find a balance on the visual side of what i am going to play on the radio
Each Vlogs basic content is the submissions i receive from various sources, mainly promo for yet, unreleased music. The other half is sharing people that follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Mixcloud and Youtube mainly, Although depends who appear on Google + and Myspace

So far
Below are the Vlogs that i have recorded so far and that are up live on Youtube
The content is the music submissions i receive from bands, labels, promoters, or any other source.  The other is "Social Media Connection,," which is people that have requested my Facebook, mixcloud, Youtube and following me on Twitter, between blog recordings. From Vlog 10 i highlighting albums that i am going through, either from a listener request or an album i just in the mood to play and decide to play in track order on shows. The other additional content is rundown of the music i played on the last live show, which is podcasts the day afternoon

Send something???

This is all visual. I know that may sound obviousl, but anything i receive and that i play on the next show and related to the artist i am playing, appears on these vlogs, BEFORE, the live broadcast.
Want to send music, merch, a video for playablity on the vlog( Show on ipad on video, an image with song segment on track ( the two main options)

Social Media
I have been listening to other people on Youtube recently about sharing links. I thought, great idea. I now share any new followers on my social media channels on every video

Video Titles
I try an throw an ounce of imagination into the titles. I didn't want to be just, " Submissions and SM connectin on every video. I just look at the music i have and make a like, book title from it

It's not new

I have done this in the past, but stopped and started. Since I have reduced my radio output, for some reason, it has made it easier to organise and collect the content. I have never cared about talking to a camera, it's never bothered me. It was a curiosity and it's never registered

When
Weekly, Monday

Why
When you produce content on the internet, the audience, in essence, is world wide. My audience is based in many counties and after a while, they want to see who you are.  I have seen other radio producers use the video format. I have taken the idea of the radio on video idea, and started with a weekly vlog. Many do, technology, I do music. Again, this is nothing new, but I feel, music is not covered like this on YouTube. You have gaming and tech, I do music :)

Donate
This is a hobbie, like the live broadcasts are. Any finiance gain is welcome. People moan about this side of the idea of giving because its free to watch. I have thought about a subscription service of somekind.  Its good idea, but i work for a living to basically fun what i do and providing exclusive content for subscribers, i just have no time for. On my live broadcasts, there are no add, on my videos, there are no sponsers. Like what i do, for free and want to help smoothen it over.  One thing that is taken when doing videos and broadcasting, time
To donation, just got to send money on the paypal website and enter coolmusicrevolution@hotmail.com

Many thanks for reading

(Music Review) Blackdoghat - BARK! ep

Nice experience to the ears from Blackdoghat, BARK!

Here we have 6 songs, Already gone, Come to town, Drown in me, Just for the hell of it, Senseless and Soul on Fire, is a mixture of a rerecording from, Planetarium and songs that John has had recorded as demos and  rough ideas on Soundcloud. There are several differences to the first album. They have gone back to basics, less studio overdubbing with just Acoustic guitars, harmonies with Ian Nicholson and the introduction of Tine Wulf on, Cello from Germany. She was in the studio with them, no file sharing.

One of the songs which works well with vocals guitar and the cello, is, Senseless, just a fantastic blend of string instruments.  Ever since i heard Ian and John together in singing harmony, they fit like a glove together. They bought this to the recordings.

I love the crow effects at the beginning of, Soul on Fire. The song is about a hanging. Again, fabulous use of the cello and great harmonies by Ian and John, just puts shiver up your spine.
Soul on fire also sounds good on a loop. The transition from end to beginning is very smooth

The only two negative elements of the ep i felt from listening to the ep, that a couple of songs are just too short. They have nice build up then just stop.  The second is when, Tine, is playing the Cello on, Already gone. The longer notes are great on the sections when played, but the sharper notes sound out of the place, like they were recorded on the wrong sections.  If the song was more overdubbed, it probably would have worked better as the Cello is deep sounding instrument

As always like Johns writing, I campare him Paul McCartneys and his melody compositions.  The one that has got the most attention so far is, Seneless. Everything was made to fit the song, perfect. Its reminds me of a snowy scene from the film, Give my regards to Broadstreet.
Bark, is not as studio dubbed as Planetarium.  Its ok to go mad in the studio and give ideas, but to replicate that live, not easy. Its like when Ian and John appeared on the radio show a year ago, i wondered why john missed a section on, Electric.  Aparantly it needs two people to play the second section. Its good to keep things basic
Blackdoghat, come up trumps once again and i have been waiting to hear the talents of Tine Wulf and of course, Ian Nicholson
The ep will be released soon
I have been playing Blackdoghat to death, studio and when they appeared.
This is another great work, by one of the master of melodies, John Sage

We are now on the moving, Lock Stock and Barrel

Update

Over the last few days I have been moving things into the flat.  We had a friend help us out with larger items, including a table and Tv. The only two major things now, are a bed and sofa, which we are buying new, and as reasonable as possible
The net, I sorted out through Sky, which should be better. Although to my shock, I am unable to get Fibre Optic in this area, which is about of an arse, I have to say.
I have seen a few people on social media, moving recently, One subject that came up was, redirecting mail.  The Post Office actually charge  £30 for this. I am just going make a list of all the people/companies that send me mail and who I order through, including Amazon and change my address
I have the weekend off and gradually moving throughout the weekend

The extra
When you move into a place, the extras are, water, electric and council tax. It's standard with any place you rent or however you arrange this.  I have no problem paying bills, as long as I have the guns to do it. It's going to be a squeeze, but, as always, you pay for what you use, at a cost, of cours

Radio and video update
As below, this is just a hobbie. I love live radio broadcasting and people like what I do. Of course, cit an out going cost that will never be recouped, other than my job way, feel free to donate to the radio cause.  I am still considering a subscription service for content I record and film, have to see

Original blog

I have been trying to fund moving for a number of years, but it has never been enough, which is frustrating.  Finding money via job and moving to a flat is not an easy task. Depends on your skill set and who takes you on, then you save money

For me, i have been working in sweet shop since last September(2013). I am no longer gardening as that was not enough, although I loved doing it.  I now have more work hours, via the shop.  I have thought about getting assistant via Housing benefit, but many landlords do not like that and to be honest, neither do I and I agree with it (If you need it, you need it) I have leaned on people long enough. I pay certain bills, but to be honest,  i am glad the time has come. The benefit route was an idea, as a top up, incased what i earned was not enough, but the paperwork has gotten ridiclous. My thought process as always been, make you own money, and fund it that way. It has now happened

Over the last few weeks, i have seen a number of one bedroom flats show up. I went round to look at  a few ( Outside, as i had no keys) and just to have a feel of where they were. 9th April, i viewed a flat, which is in the center of town.. Its a studio layout and within my budget. I am moving in April 28th
I have found a flat in town and will be gradually moving in over the course of the week after that and probably more as i work during the day

Radio and video

This still continues, although i have reduced my live radio broadcasts to once a week.
To keep a balance, i have began the "RVS Sunday Vlog".  This is focusing on music submissions i receive, news i see or get, subscribers to various social channel and Youtubers who i have found like, or any other way it happens

As you might have guessed and i have mentioned it in a number of places, radio is a hobbie, it has never made money. I have had equipment and a few financial donations, which i am always grateful for. People like what i do and they have supported my efforts to promote quality music.
My posters were donatecto me by Lisa Ann, show does them in her free time
You can't rely on donations to make a living, reason why i work for a living.

Moving was the first step, after finding work in the first place. Gardening and cleaning i loving doing, but it was not sustaining an income as i thought it would

I have seen many times, that people asumme, believe that anything on the net( Unless its a shop) should be free. Whatever you do on the net, there are bills to be paid. Everyone who has an internet connection pays a bill to be on the net. With radio, no matter what you do, either show or a stations, there come extra bills and the one thing that sucks it up the most, is time. The work industry, this is called "Labour Time" or whatever the modern term is.
Everything in your life takes time do to. People that put effort into creating something, it takes time

I thought i would just update this, to iron out some corrections. There will be another blog on this as soon as things more. I will add an "Update" at the top
